Business and Government Work together to pave township road to a long time Garretson companies Automotive Facility and the Announcement of Major expansion and renovation planned for 2016
This nearly 4 million dollar project is made possible with the collaboration of Nordstrom’s and their bank financing, the GOED, Minnehaha and Lincoln County Development, South East Council of Governments, and Edison Township.

Nordstrom’s Automotive’ s family owned company has been helping automotive professionals and do-it-yourselfers with quality money saving options for all aspects of automotive repair from mechanical parts, collision parts, repair services and repairable vehicles since the late 60’s, 1969 is used on their marketing materials. Born on the family farm by Art and Marie Nordstrom the business has steadily expanded and added on over the years. Currently owner Shannon Nordstrom and his parents work to lead an awesome team of 70 plus team members to operate their CAR (Certified Auto Recycler) Certified Facility. They are proud to offer Green Recycled Used Parts, OEM surplus parts, Remanufactured parts, rebuilt parts and alternative aftermarket parts to customers all across the region and on-line nationally and internationally.
This expansion will allow for year-round quality access to the business via a new resurfaced and paved road from County road 122 south 1 mile and extending to the entrances of Ewe Pullet, their self-service operation, and Nordstrom’s Auto Recycling their full service operation. Nordstrom’s Auto recycling is planned for a 40,000 square foot plus expansion, renovation and retrofitting that will bring more efficient centralized operations, modernized infrastructure, expanded dismantling capacity, a modern loading dock, truck turn and distribution area, expanded warehousing, expanded sales areas, a industry training room and much much more. The building will be made as green as possible utilizing waste oil boilers, Geo-Thermal, and modernized lighting.
The Nordstrom’s team is excited about this expansion and what the future holds and knows that they will need to make these key steps to stay competitive in the automotive dismantling and parts market. They are excited about the capacity improvements to be able to handle a continuingly growing service area and look forward to continued growth which will secure jobs and provide for increased tax revenues for the future.
